Nice staff depending on the day. Wheelchair accessible doorway. Elevator. Good selection of books. Adults, teens and children have mildly separated areas (children on bound floor, teens and adults on 2nd floor). comfortable places to sit. Study area provided. Plenty of seats outside. $1 one-day pass. Close to both a k-8 school and high school so be prepared for a lot of kids. Located in old Town historical Avondale so feel free to walk the block and check out some of the other stores and restaurants.
This library sports a comfortable mid-century modern design and is staffed by helpful and friendly people. The kids have the entire bottom floor dedicated to their needs, including puzzles, blocks, and puppets in a special area designed for the under 5 age group. For school-aged kids, the library recently began carrying STEAM kits that can be checked out. My 7-year-old and 8-year-old sons LOVE these. Getting to build circuits, do science experiments, and loom pot-holders are just a sampling of the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics activities that are available to choose from. If you haven't checked it out yet, come on down to the historic part of Avondale and see what you've been missing!
Nice library with a modern feel. Great place to sit down for a nice nead.
compared to the other libraries in the area (with the exception of the Civic Center) this is a good one. It looks modern and it's quiet, but it needs a redesign upstairs where it can provide more studying tables and computers and less books. if that happens, then this would be a go to place for me.
Nice library. There is an elevator and a kids area. 25 cents to print out a page. Friendly staff.
